Székesfehérvár
The former capital and royal seat, which was the exclusive crown city of our country for five hundred years, tells the story of a thousand years of history. On this night especially, Székesfehérvár's museums and public collections are preparing for the Night of Museums with a host of exciting events.
Unusual guided tours, creative activities, traditional programmes, film screenings, concerts, dance and theatre performances, as well as family and children's programmes await visitors to the "City of Kings".
In addition to the permanent exhibitions, the King Stephen Museum offers interesting temporary exhibitions and accompanying programmes at all its exhibition venues. The István Csók Gallery offers a glimpse into the treasures of ancient China, the Monastery Visitor Centre tells the story of the region's World War II battles, and the Military History Museum has a selection of special, valuable and spectacular collections. The New Hungarian Picture Gallery pays tribute to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Sándor Petőfi, while the Medieval Ruins Garden is preparing for the Night of Museums with exciting interactive activities.
This is just a brief taste of the city's cultural offer, as many other museums, institutions and other organisations in the city have joined the event, and you can find a selection of their programmes HERE.
