University Historical Collection
The University History Collection of Pécs collects documents, objects and photographs related to the history of the University of Pécs and its predecessor institutions. Our exhibitions present a part of the university's history.
Our permanent exhibition, titled From the Past to the Future, presents the history of the university and its legal predecessor institutions from the medieval university founded in 1367 to the 21st century. The exhibition describes the history of the university faculties, the work of the professors who teach here, the student life, and the scientific work by discipline. The university's clinics and the healing activities taking place here also form a separate unit, which is colored by medical equipment, photographs, and the memories of the patients.
Some special items are also on display, such as Antal Ádám's constitutional judge's chain, János Szentágothai's microscope, Gyula Prinz's personal items, a work by Ilona Keserü, a Commodore computer, and paintings depicting university rectors.
This year's temporary exhibition entitled "The History and Collections of the Dermatological Clinic of Pécs", will also be on display during the Night of Museums.
In the Klimo Library, which is 250 years old this year, we welcome our visitors with guided tours and a new permanent exhibition, and also with a new temporary exhibition.
