Hungarian Railway Museum
The Hungarian Railway Museum Foundation was established by MÁV (Hungarian State Railways) Plc. and MÁV Nosztalgia Ltd. in November 1999. The Foundation is registered at 1142 Budapest, Tatai út 95. The Foundation’s aim is to collect and preserve railway heritage, to create and maintain a permanent railway exhibition and also to provide maintenance to the vehicles exhibited and operated on the premises. The Foundation supports research projects related to the past and future of the railways.
The Hungarian Railway Museum Foundation is looking for support from individuals and organisations who care about the preservation and presentation of the technical heritage of the railways in Hungary. The support is used for the operation and development of the Museum and for the refurbishment, maintenance and preservation of the vehicles.
NIGHT OF THE MUSEUM 2025 IN THE HUNGARIAN RAILWAY MUSEUM
The Hungarian Railway Museum is once again an active participant in one of Hungary biggest cultural events: the Night of Museums on June 21 st! The Hungarian Railway Museum has been one of the most visited sites in recent years, so don’t miss out on quality railway programs this year, start your night at Europe’s largest interactive railway museum!
During the evening, visitors can encounter a number of interactive services, including:

18.00-01.00: Ride on the garden railway (for a separate interactive ticket)

23.00-23.30: Locomotive demonstration on the turntable, where visitors can see the guest locomotives.
The Night of Museums 2025 wristbands will soon be available for purchase at the main entrance ticket office of the Railway History Park during opening hours.
