The Hungarian Railway Museum Foundation was established by MÁV (Hungarian State Railways) Plc. and MÁV Nosztalgia Ltd. in November 1999. The Foundation is registered at 1142 Budapest, Tatai út 95. The Foundation’s aim is to collect and preserve railway heritage, to create and maintain a permanent railway exhibition and also to provide maintenance to the vehicles exhibited and operated on the premises. The Foundation supports research projects related to the past and future of the railways.

The Hungarian Railway Museum Foundation is looking for support from individuals and organisations who care about the preservation and presentation of the technical heritage of the railways in Hungary. The support is used for the operation and development of the Museum and for the refurbishment, maintenance and preservation of the vehicles.

VINTAGE DIESEL LOCOMOTIVES NIGHT AT THE HUNGARIAN RAILWAY MUSEUM

The Hungarian Railway Museum will also participate in one of the most important hungarian cultural events: the Night of Museums on 25 June!

As one of last year’s 15 most visited sites, the Hungarian Railway Museum is a must see for every train enthusiast! Start the night at Europe’s largest interactive railway museum, be part of our retro locomotive night! 648 'Ludmilla', 628-M62 'Sergei' (or Taigatrommel) and 651 'Ludmilla' locomotive series will all be available for the public eye.

At 10pm on the stage: Never Give Up Gospel choir (formed in 2013)! An integrated choir in which soloists are, without exception, performers who are people with disabilites (with intellectual disabilities, disabled and visually impaired). In their performance, they perform Hungarian hits and domes that evoke the atmosphere of the old days.

The following interactive programs will be available during the evening:

The evening will be hosted by Zoltán Somogyi, the host of Sláger FM.
