About Us

Established in 2019, the Godot Institute of Contemporary Art has quickly become one of the coolest and most dynamic art venues in Budapest. Privately founded and self-sustaining, the institute is a testament to the power of independent art initiatives. Nestled in the historic setting of the former Goldberger textile factory, our 1,100 square metre space, including a 700 square metre hall and an attached four-storey building, has been ingeniously repurposed to showcase contemporary art in a unique and inspiring environment.

Supporting the Godot Institute is crucial as it operates without external funding, relying on the dedication of artists, curators, and art lovers. Our exhibitions rival those found in major global cities, making us a standout on Budapest's cultural landscape. By offering a platform for innovative and cutting-edge art, we ensure that both local and international artists have a space to express their creative freedom.

As an exciting highlight on Budapest’s art scene, we present a diverse array of exhibitions that reflect the vibrant and ever-evolving nature of contemporary art. Join us in celebrating and supporting this vital cultural hub, where creativity thrives and the arts are celebrated in their most authentic form.
