The William Byrd Vocal Ensemble has been serving the promotion and presentation of Hungarian and European musical culture for over 30 years, since 1992, both in Hungary and abroad.
The ensemble belongs to the category of so-called early music groups, with a repertoire ranging from Gregorian chant to the Baroque era. However, they have also taken part in concerts featuring contemporary music. They are winners of numerous national and international competitions. A brief list includes: Kodály Choir Competition, Budapest – 1st Prize (1999), Arezzo Choir Competition – 2nd Prize (2000), Kodály Choir Competition, Budapest – 3rd Prize and Special Award for Artistic Excellence (2003) Festival and other invitations: Pécs Chamber Choir Festival, Millennium Competition Budapest (1st place), Hungarian Catholic Church in Prague (twice), Savigliano Festival in Italy, Downtown Church of Győr, Benedictine Abbey in Badacsonytomaj, Gödöllő (on numerous occasions, every year in the last decade).
They are also regular participants in the musical life of Budafok: Wine Festival, Christmas concerts, Tétény–Promontor events, and exhibition openings.
