Millennia of memories, natural treasures, and unique works of art await those visiting Miskolc during this year’s Night of Museums. As a featured location, the city’s museums and public collections are preparing a vibrant and exciting range of programs for the evening of June 21.

At the Pannon Sea Museum, visitors can embark on a journey through hundreds of thousands of years by walking along ancient jungle paths leading into Earth’s distant past and exploring the thrilling elements of the interactive exhibition. Surfacing from underground, guests can try their hand at traditional folk crafts and folk dancing in connection with the Flourishing Folk Art exhibition at the Ottó Herman Museum. They’ll also have the chance to admire our ambassador, Gabi Gubás, in a folk art fashion show — and join the Miskolc Male Choir for a sing-along.

The Jókai200 memorial year and featured theme will also be present in Miskolc’s programs. Actors from the Miskolc National Theatre will surprise audiences with flash mobs, where Sissi, Róza Laborfalvy, and Mór Jókai all come together in one magical night. The literature and music of Jókai’s era will come to life, and visitors can also enjoy a special exhibition and interactive display at the Archaeological Open Storage.
