Medical and Pharmaceutical History Collection
The Medical and Pharmaceutical History Collection was established in January 1985 by merging the Bács-Kiskun County Pharmacy History Collection and the County Medical History Collection.
These two collections were created by Nándor Lóránd Pharmacist and Aladár Réthy Chief Laboratory Physician. We owe it to their interest in professional history. The location of the combined collection is a peasant-bourgeois residence. It can also be found on the city map made in 1810, which has been transformed several times since then.
The Medical and Pharmaceutical History Collection currently functions as an exhibition space of the Katona József Museum of Kecskemét.
"What should one do now?"
– Unconventional remedies, or the conscious use and role of fairy tales in healing and maintaining health.
At the Medical and Pharmaceutical History Collection of the KKJM, during the 2025 Night of Museums, we will be focusing on fairy tale therapy.
