Local History Museum - Szigetszentmiklós
We welcome visitors to our programs on Night of Museums from 5 PM to 10 PM!
Admission - except for the Nostalgic Ride - is free!
The Local History Collection is the aggregator of Szigetszentmiklós's past! Our four permanent exhibitions have been welcoming locals interested in their hometown and visitors from all over the country for years!
In our main building at 34 Árpád Street, you can find an archaeological and ethnographic exhibition showcasing the village's thousand-year history. Across the street, at 29 Árpád Street, there is a memorial exhibition about the life of Jenő Ádám, a Kossuth Prize-winning music educator. A bit farther away, in the ÁTI-Sziget Industrial Park, you can visit the technical history exhibition presenting the story of the Csepel Automobile Factory. Smaller but just as special is the Imre Molnár Zither Collection, located in the building of the City Library and Community Center.
