Hungarian Naïve Artists' Collection
A unique museum was opened in Hungary with a nationwide collection in 1976. The foundation of the Hungarian Naïve Artists' Collection was the private collection and donation of Domokos Moldovan film director.
The Bánó house has undergone several renovations. The lower west wing was built in the middle of the 18th century on the former farm yard. The building represents the central Hungarian house type with its room, kitchen and pantry layout. The kitchen has an open chimney. The large, low-rise, high-roofed residential building dates back to the 18th and 19th centuries. It was built at the turn of the century and joined the already existing former wing. As a result of subsequent alterations, it has only preserved its original condition in details, one of which is the kitchen with an open chimney. The fireplace in the hall opening from the south is also an 18th-century feature. The western facade is joined by a heavy overhanging entry to the basement and a porch.
The Hungarian Naïve Artists' Collection currently functions as an exhibition space of the Katona József Museum of Kecskemét.
