Guided Tour with Zoltán Szegedy-Maszák
In collaboration with Gábor Áfrány, curator of the exhibition

Zoltán Szegedy-Maszák and Márton Fernezelyi have been creating media art installations together for over a quarter of a century, often involving additional collaborators in their artistic process.

Their creative approach is continually revitalised through collaboration — embracing diverse perspectives and fields of interest. This openness to shared authorship also leaves a distinct imprint on Szegedy-Maszák’s solo works.

The exhibition includes a newly reimagined version of Promenade (1998), a striking interactive virtual reality installation. Since being expanded in 2002 to include stereoscopic projection, it has been exhibited internationally on numerous occasions, though it has only been shown in Hungary twice — both times in the early 2000s.

In addition to interactive installations, the exhibition also features Szegedy-Maszák’s lenticular image series, which explore the boundaries between photographic image-making and computer-generated space. Also on view are his 3D-printed spatial sequences that investigate the interplay between text, image, and object.
