A night in Jaffa - storytelling cooking show with Kristóf Steiner and Nimrod Dagan - the programme is in Hungarian
This year marks the 9th year that Kristóf Steiner, author and vegan gastronomic consultant, has been evoking the classics of Jewish gastronomy in the garden of the Holocaust Memorial Center, in front of the synagogue. The culinary-cultural cavalcade concludes with a tasting - which not only appeals to vegans year after year.
This year, Kristóf and his partner Nimrod Dagan will be bringing the classics of Middle Eastern cuisine to Páva Street: hummus masabaha, or chickpea "stew", shakshuka - the "lecsó" of the region, tabule salad with couscous, and sahlab, or cinnamon-rosewater pudding served warm. Kristóf and Nimrod lived in Tel Aviv Jaffa for many years, and although they are now residents of a Greek village, a piece of their hearts will always remain in the Levant.
"As peace and human rights activists, and also as gastronomic consultant, it is especially important for us to talk and write about the colourful and rich culture and the many good people who, like us, believe that we can and should share our heritage, joys and sorrows. Taking responsibility for each other, for ourselves, we nourish the common good. At the hearth, around the table, and wherever we go.
